All About Neutrals-author Allie Hickam

Neutrals, neutrals, neutrals...can we say more!?! We couldn't be more excited to wear a neutral palette all spring/summer long! By definition, neutral means 'without color.' But we like to think of neutrals as balanced shades that don't compete with anything else. They work well with other colors by complementing them, but this season, we like to wear them independently to make a statement.

When some think of neutrals, you might think of blacks and whites. But life isn't always black and white...right?! When we are talking about neutrals this season, we are talking more soft and earthy tones. There is just something about all the colors of cream, white, oatmeal, mocha and beige, khaki, and ivory that give us all the calming, pure, and clean vibes this season and it makes us so happy. We all have plenty of neutrals and whites already in our closet, so just adding more pieces to your wardrobe this season will help you be able to wear them plenty of different ways!

1. All the neutral look

With the neutral color palette, you can mix and match all the different hues to create an adorable outfit. Start with darker or lighter outerwear as a base and finish with the opposite color accessories. We love this mocha jumpsuit for spring. Pair it with a cute hat and lighter tank underneath.

With this outfit, we did this super cute 'Best Day Ever Romper' as a lighter piece for the base and then accessorized with a darker colored hat.

2. Different Ways to Wear Pieces

This blouse is so beautiful and we love all the beaded detail all over! This can be worn so many different ways this sprint! Wear it with a pair of linen shorts and a cute neutral purse for a date night. For bridal showers, pair it with our white 'best in show' skirt or pair it with a pair of our taupe pants for work attire.

This top can be worn so many ways! Wear it with a cute pair of jean shorts and a gigi pip hat like in this picture. Or wear it with a cute pair of our 'coffee break' high waisted pants and some cute accent jewelry.

We all love a good neutral body suit and this mocha colored body suit is perfect to pair in so many different ways to have you looking stylish all season long! For chilly days, grab your cozy ivory cardigan, high wasted jeans and gold accent jewelry for a cute and neutral look. For warmer days, wear it with linen shorts, a Gigi Pip hat and a sandals. This is even a perfect look for work, paired with a white blazer and jeans or khaki pants.

These neutral pants are adorable with so many different tops! Wear these with different shades of neutral body suits, sweaters, blouses and tank tops! We love them paired with our new white crop top and khaki jacket to add an extra piece.

3. Textures

Neutrals can be really fun to play with when you have different textures to work with. Pick some fun accent pieces with different materials such as lace, satin, linen, straw, denim, wool, or cotton.

For example, this white linen blouse looks so cute paired with a this khaki knit skirt.

We love the color of this satin mocha body suit! Pair it with this adorable cream midi skirt (or linen high waisted shorts). If its chilly, throw on a blazer or cardigan.

There are so many adorable neutral outfits for this spring and tons of different ways to wear them. We can't contain our excitement and your closet will love all the clean and fresh colors!
